Founded in the middle of the 1970's, this course's design is considered one of Robert Trent Jones's best - a good example of his genius. It is situated right in the heart of 'Golf Valley' of Nueva Andalucia and has hosted many championships including the Spanish PGA Championship.

The course has long terrace-shaped tees, many elevated, and large exciting undulating greens protected by enormous bunkers. The surrounding thick vegetation is dominated by orange trees which add vibrant colour to the surroundings and fill the air with a wonderful aroma. The front and back 9 holes differ so much you might almost think you are playing different courses. The front 9 has rolling wide fairways, whereas the back 9 is tighter and flatter. Although the recently improved fairways are wide they demand long and accurate shots. It is not an easy round, it is challenging for the average player and the very best professionals. Los Naranjos is run on the philosophy that "golf means more than just hitting a ball".

Opened in 1994 and adjacent to its new neighbour Santa Clara golf club, Marbella Golf and Country Club is a typical Robert Trent Jones design, with its sweeping fairways, abundant bunkers and large undulating greens. The 18 hole layout was imaginatively conceived and is designed to compliment the existing environment and provide a testing but enjoyable game for golfers of different abilities. It has lovely views to the sea and is located only minutes from central Marbella and Puerto Banus.

The course uses the rolling Andalucian hillside to provide a testing but enjoyable round for players of all abilities, it starts off fairly hilly then starts to level out into more open flat terrain. This long course (6500m) is filled with small and not so small obstacles that will thrill the more experienced golfers. The varied layout of the course demands precision and technique, offering a challenging game to golfers of all levels even though the course really has some difficult holes. Large bunkers protect the undulating greens and several water hazards come into play which enhance the scenic value of the course particularly on the back nine. The rough can also be difficult for shots that stray.

The first few holes require accurate and brave tee shots to get across the ravines and gulleys. Although the next holes are somewhat easier on the nerves, players should beware the fearsome 12th, a sharp dogleg right with hills, valleys and seagulls who occasionally steal your golf balls! From the raised tees at the 12th you can get a magnificent view of the sea.

A large first class clubhouse enables players to relax after a game and enjoy the facilities on offer including an impressive restaurant and bar cafeteria with terrace dining overlooking the finishing golf holes and the sea beyond. First class practicing facilities are also on offer including a driving range, tuition, pitching green and putting green. The Club also offers private members facilities, an extensive pro shop and tennis courts.

Mijas Golf, designed by Robert Trent Jones Senior, has become one of the busiest and most popular golf complexes in Spain. It is made up of 2 courses, Los Lagos and Los Olivos, and both are renowned for their outstanding conditions, friendly atmosphere and excellent service. They are easily reached as they are just north of Fuengirola and 20 minutes from Malaga Airport.

Los Lagos was the first course to be constructed and is now 25 years old. It is the longer of the two and is known for its many lakes which come into play on nine holes and easily trap the ball. It is a ground course with wide fairways, numerous bunkers, very little rough and forest trees that are obstacles that protect the large greens.

Los Olivos is the newer and shorter course of the two Mijas Golf courses and it has recently been totally refurbished offering enlarged greens by up to 50 percent. The course has undulated raised greens that are protected by numerous bunkers and the fairways are flanked by the many olive trees which demand the player uses a strong and straight drive. All of this can be seen on the GPS screens in the new fleet of buggies that whisk you around the course. This course is more suitable for players with a large, strong swing who are gifted with a higher technical ability, precision and concentration.

Located in Calahonda, mid way between Fuengirola and Marbella and only 3kms from the coastal highway, Miraflores is situated in the very heart of the Costa del Sol's many golf courses and offers breathtaking views of the countryside down to the sea. Miraflores Golf Club opened for play in 1990 it is a 18 hole, 5113 metres, par 71 course that was designed by Folco Nardi.

Miraflores has lush fairways and well-manicured greens and follows the gentle contours of the Sierra Mijas foothills. Three lakes make for many water hazards and the course has a number of elevated greens which require some tough walking, it is both a beautiful and challenging course. Although short by modern day standards, each one of the 18 holes offers a different challenge, the 18th green is tricky with severe slopes, watch out for the 15th hole where water forms a moat around the green and the 8th offers a breathtaking view of the countryside.

The centrally located clubhouse is perfectly positioned to take advantage of the magnificent panoramic scenery. Miraflores Golf also offers the most comprehensive Golf Academy in southern Spain offering a covered and illuminated driving range, illuminated putting green and bunkers, illuminated Mini-Golf course and tuition for everyone from the outright beginner to the most discerning low-handicap golfer wishing to hone his skills. There is also a pro-shop, club fitting centre, video room and cafeteria.
